To celebrate our majority-female staff, Dimexon held a series of events across the world that centred on gifting, gratitude, connection and camaraderie.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2024 was Inspire Inclusion. Where there is inclusion, there is empowerment, resilience and belonging – making for stronger, more dynamic workplaces. At Dimexon, inclusion is a core value, and we work hard to ensure that everyone who walks through our doors feels welcome and considered.
Women are the beating heart of Dimexon’s business, and we are a proud signatory of the UN Women Empowerment Principles. Our Coimbatore factory employs 1,467 local women, and 83% of them have been with us for at least 10 years. To mark International Women’s Day 2024, our staff took part in events in India and Belgium that promoted inclusion and empowerment.
In Coimbatore, our staff dressed in pink for solidarity, and were greeted on arrival at work with roses and chocolates. Each employee was congratulated, and staff celebrated with sweets in the canteen at break times. In addition to this, Coimbatore’s supervisors were invited to an inspiring talk on promoting physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing, delivered by Velgha Learning Solutions CEO Vanisree Gopalakrishnan.
At our office in Mumbai’s Bharat Diamond Bourse, staff were given a card and chocolates by our director Rajiv Mehta and vice-president of sales Pranav Mehta. They were then invited to a lecture on women’s health and nutrition by Dr Shumaila Sadaf.
In Antwerp, members of our team were invited to an International Women’s Day lunch for women in the city’s Diamond Quarter, hosted by Women in Diamonds and the Antwerp World Diamond Centre. There were 100 women in the room, who joined together to network and promote unity in the Quarter.
